The Ripple Effect

Teachers go on home visits each month in Makhdoompur to visit the children's homes and connect with their parents. The teachers would often see a young child name Pratibha playing on the roads. The teachers used to tell her, “There’s a school nearby. You should come and study.” She would say, “I’ll come,” but never actually did.

Last month, during one of these home visits, the teachers went to her house. They spoke to her mother and explained the importance of education, “The children keep roaming around all day. Education will help them in life. Please send them to school.” After that, her mother enrolled both Pratibha AND her elder sister Pragya in Makhdoompur school.
That was two weeks ago. Since then, there has been a great change in Pratibha’s life. Earlier, while her mother was away at work, she used to play outside in the sun all day. But ever since she joined school, she has been attending regularly—without missing a single day. She even makes sure to come to school on time.
She arrives early and helps clean the school. She sweeps the classroom, while her younger sister wipes dust and dirt off the benches. Pratibha sits properly in class and pays attention to her studies. She follows everything Sudha Ma’am teaches and participates actively in class.
We're so thankful for that day that we decided to go to their home and that their mom was encouraged to send the children to school. This one day caused a ripple effect. Not only was the mom happy to give Pratibha education but also make a way for her elder sister to study as well.
